NEW OWNERS CARRY ON LEGACY OF NAVARO CANOE CO. IN ROCK ISLAND
Rock Island, IL – AUG 12, 2022 | Keeping a business afloat can be a challenge, but the Navarro Canoe Co. has navigated its way to success in Rock Island.
Today the company is co-owned by Todd McGreevy, Jeff O'Hearn and Chris Barnard, but Navarro originally started in the late 1970s in California, named for the Navarro River in northern California, where the canoes were being built. Read the full Quad City Times article by Gretchen Teske.
Living Lands & Waters' Volunteers Honored on National Canoe Day
Rock Island, IL – June 28, 2022 | Since 1996, Chad Pregracke and his Living Lands and Waters organization have picked up millions of pounds of litter and debris from Midwest rivers. That has taken thousands of volunteers and an impressive fleet of tows, barges and jon boats.

Handcrafted canoe company launches out of Rock Island
May 31, 2012 | A company that makes handcrafted canoes has set up shop in downtown Rock Island, near the banks of the Mississippi River. Bruce and Sue Peterson, of Rock Island, bought Navarro Canoe Co. in Minnesota and relocated it to a former motorcycle shop at 2219 3rd Ave., Rock Island.
