The Navarro Canoe Co. Legacy

It all started when…

Navarro Canoe Co. began in northern California near the Navarro River in the early 1970's.

Vernon Pew, like his grandfather, L. H. Beach twenty some years earlier, combined wooden ribs and composite hulls to create striking canoes with strength, rigidity and less excessive weight.

The Navarro Canoe Co. traditions and standards established in Mendocino County, California have been maintained and improved by subsequent owners in Oregon, Minnesota, Illinois and now Iowa.

Over the decades discerning canoe lovers across America and from as far away as Ireland and Japan have celebrated their Navarro Canoe acquisition.

Today, Navarro Canoe Co. maintains its headquarters, showroom and production facility in downtown Rock Island, Illinois where it has been since 2011.

In 2022, new ownership launched Navarro-X to enhance customers’ experiences before, during and after their Navarro canoe purchase.
